Identify Dangerous Areas on Machinery,
& Protect People Before an Injury
The National Standard we use for Hazard Assessments evaluates three key factors;

  • Hazard exposure
  • Chance for avoidance
  • Level of injury

This evaluation determines a
Level of Risk for each hazard.
Risk Level
Checklist of hazard types is used to identify dangerous locations on equipment.  While shear and crush points are typically obvious, many hazards are much more subtle.

Safety Standards are set by ANSI for minimal machine guarding. Each type of machine has unique regulations
Hazard Identification
Chinook is not affiliated with any national safety institution and has not had an installation fail inspection.

As a result we are not required to report safety conditions or compliance with regulations.  You are free to choose the level of protection for the installation.

We follow all OSHA and ANSI regulations for Safety, Machine Guarding and machine specific requirements.

We have installed safety systems on hundreds of machines and have not had an injury on an unmodified installation.

The Risk level defines the required safety category for protection of the hazard.  This safety level defines the requirements for the following parameters

  • Type of Hardwae allowed
  • Failure Identification and Lock Out
  • Sensor Redundancy
  • Control Redundancy
  • Nunber of Failures before Loss of Safety
